I prefer to give my pipe a good 30-minute soak in a tub of iso following daily dabbing sessions. Better than anything else I have tried, the alcohol breaks down and melts all that sticky residual accumulation. It cleans better the higher the %. The residue inside the dab rig can then be readily cleaned with some decent cotton wipes. Make sure you clean every corner; do not only tidy one spot.
Furthermore, I have some white vinegar on hand, a fantastic natural cleaner, should there be tough stains.
But I would want to share a simple cleaning hack—heating—during the procedure. Warm the glass rapidly to gently melt the residual wax using a microwave or hot water. Other cleaning methods
Let’s use the coarse salt we just made and the isopropyl alcohol. Pour some alcohol and salt into the dab rig; seal the holes, then shake vigorously. Alcohol and abrasive salt taken together will clear any gunky accumulation. Before giving stubborn areas like the nail and downstem a good scrub, let them soak in alcohol for a bit. Of course, we have other easier cleaning methods.
Warm water and isopropyl alcohol
To get any surface residue off the rig, first soak it in warm water and wash it with mild soap. After that, load it with a 91% isopropyl alcohol solution and gently brush the inside walls with a tiny brush to completely dissolve any oil stains adhering to the glass after ten to fifteen minutes. Rinse completely later with fresh water. Consider emptying the rig into a jar of Everclear or MCT oil shortly after use to prevent stains from solidifying and cake from forming long-term.

Still, extended use will inevitably cause carbon buildup. When that happens, you can burn the hot rig just after dabbing, then immerse it into isopropyl alcohol for quick cooling. Quartz glass can manage thermal shock, so relax about it. The heat effect will quickly fade tough stains.
