What Is Hookah Made Out Of

When it comes to smoking weed, I have many options in my home such as weed bongs, Gas Mask Bong, and pipes, but I only love using hookah, so today I specially wrote this blog about what is hookah made out of

You may be curious why I care about this topic, because if you are a hookah lover, you will know that choosing high-quality materials is very important for your smoking experience. Here I will share all the materials I know of that are used to make hookahs, so you can make the most informed choice when selecting a hookah that suits you best.

Hookah usually consists of the following main parts:

Vase

hookah Vase is located at the bottom of the hookah. It helps us filter out impurities as the smoke passes through. In our opinion, it is an indispensable part of the hookah.

The long, tubular component of the hookah that joins the bowl or head at the top with the water vase at the base is called the stem. It shapes the hookah’s height and primary body.

Bowl: The bowl, which is used to store and burn the tobacco, is situated at the top of the hookah.

Hose
Hose The user can draw in smoke via the hose, which is a long, flexible tube. Although leather was sometimes used to make hookah hoses, most contemporary models now use silicone or plastic tubing instead. There is usually a mouthpiece attached to the end for comfort.

Purge Valve
The purge valve is a release mechanism that allows the user to clear smoke from the hose and vase between puffs. It facilitates the attainment of purer inhalations.

Windscreen/Charcoal Screen: The windscreen covers the bowl to prevent the charcoal from being blown away by the wind. The charcoal screen is used to place and move the hot charcoal.

These components work together to provide a unique smoking experience with the hookah. So what materials are these components generally made of? Don’t worry, let us carefully introduce you to their production materials. It may be much simpler than you think!

Materials for Making Hookah Bowls

Allow me to introduce the hookah bowl, a vessel typically employed for containing tobacco and coal while engaging in the act of smoking. The most prevalent materials used are as follows:

Clay is a highly conventional material employed for crafting hookah bowls. Clay bowls exhibit exceptional thermal capacity and even dispersion. The clay varieties utilized encompass Egyptian clay and Turkish clay.

– Ceramic – Ceramic bowls have gained popularity in recent years. In addition, they possess excellent heat retention capabilities while exhibiting superior durability compared to clay. Some ceramics are manufactured using glazes that incorporate metal oxides to enhance their thermal characteristics.

– Silicone: Bowls made of silicone are a relatively new material used in hookahs. High heat resistance, affordability, and long-lasting durability are all features of silicone. However, the heat distribution’s evenness could not be on par with clay or ceramic materials.

Aluminum: Although it is sometimes used, it is not recommended since the soft metal absorbs heat rather than returning it to the tobacco.

With respect to the aforementioned materials, I personally like utilizing a Ceramic bowl to complement my hookah. The inert nature of ceramic not only preserves the unique aromas of shisha tobacco, but also withstands extreme heat. Nevertheless, what truly captivates me is the fact that ceramic hookah bowls typically exhibit highly elaborate and aesthetically pleasing designs.

Materials for Making Hookah Hoses

Modern hookah hoses are typically made from plastic, silicone, or leather, with plastic and silicone hoses being more common and affordable, while leather hoses are seen as higher quality with a premium look and feel.

Purge Valve crafting materials

The purge valve fulfills a crucial function on the shisha hookah pipe. This component enables the user to eliminate smoke from the interior of the vase and hose after inhalation. There is a wide range of purge valves available, which differ in terms of their types and materials.

A prevalent form of purge valve is a plastic or rubber sphere that is positioned atop the hookah hose port on the vase. While inactive, it effectively closes the port to ensure that no air is released. In order to dissipate the smoke, the user can effectively disperse it by placing their hand over the tip of the hose and exhaling forcefully, causing the ball to temporarily move away from the opening and allowing the smoke to escape. Following the process of purging, the ball undergoes self-resealing.

Additional types of purge valves consist of silicone or plastic flap valves that are activated by blown air and subsequently reseal automatically. Additionally, there exist unidirectional valves that bear resemblance to the ones employed in inflated objects. These facilitate the expulsion of air while preventing the re-entry of oxygen.

Purge valves are commonly constructed using heat-resistant silicone, resilient plastic, or rubber materials. High-quality materials provide airtightness and ensure the valve functions effectively while purging smoke from the hookah.

Materials for Making Hookah Mouthpieces

Common materials for mouthpieces include plastic, wood, acrylic, and metal. Thepiece often has a wider diameter than the mouth hose to fit comfortably in the mouth. Some feature additional cooling components like heat rocks or beads to further cool the smoke.

Materials for Making Hookah Vases

I’ve noticed that glass, ceramic, or brass metal are the most frequently used materials for vases. However, in addition to the above two common materials, there are other materials for vases. I have purchased some, and I think if you want to try something different For better experience, you should try other materials. I have listed them for you next.

Glass base – beautiful and transparent, you can see the smoke effect of shisha

Plastic base – lightweight and easy to carry; lower price, but not as refined and elegant as the glass base.

Ceramic base – various designs, colors and styles; more durable than glass

Metal bases – bases like brass or steel are strong, durable and heavy, but may rust over time.

Acrylic base – lightweight, durable, and cheap, but not as delicate in appearance as glass or ceramic.
